V/Line Cup 2026

V/Line Cup 2026

Published: Wed 16 Sep 2026

The V/Line Cup returns to Gippsland for 2026 from 21 to 23 September

The 2026 V/Line Cup will be held from Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 September and excitement is building across the LaTrobe Valley.

V/Line’s Chief Operating Officer Sussanah Osborne and Eastern Regional Manager Tim Pianta joined LaTrobe City Council Mayor Cr Sharon Gibson and AFL Gippsland Regional Manager Tim Cotter to launch the event at Morwell Recreation Reserve.

Current West Coast Eagle rising star Willem Duursma, who played with Gippsland Power in the 2022 V/Line Cup, was the star attraction at the launch.

Last year’s No.1 AFL draft pick was happy to pass on tips and advice to the current group of Power players where the event could take them on their footy journeys.

The V/Line Cup has a rich history dating back to 1949 as Victoria's premier under 15s representative footy carnival.

Gippsland is part of footy’s heartland, and we’re delighted the V/Line Cup is returning to the region after it last hosted the carnival in 2018.

V/Line is incredibly proud of our ongoing support for the V/Line Cup, which has now stretched to 22 years.

Events like this bring the community together, and we are excited to see the passion on show for the next generation of footy stars.

You can follow all the V/Line Cup action on AFL Victoria’s website: https://play.afl/victoria/talent-pathways/vline-cup
