Warrnambool Station works
Geelong line
We’re building a new stabling yard at Warrnambool Station so that VLocity trains can be housed overnight.
While coaches replace trains between Warrnambool and Southern Cross Station from Monday 31 March to Sunday 13 April, crews will upgrade the stabling facility. Works will take place daily between 7am and 7pm.
During this time, there will be changes to car parking and pedestrian access.
What we’re doing
• Removal of tracks to make room for the new stabling yard
• Utilities works – electrical, signalling, drainage, towns water, sewer
• Construction of a retaining wall
• Establishment of construction fencing for the ongoing offline construction of the new stabling facility
What to be aware of
There will be construction noise and dust from the use of excavation equipment and the movement of heavy machinery.
Road detours and traffic management will be in place.
The pedestrian crossing and level crossings at Gilles Street will also be closed but an accessible detour will be available, and a traffic controller will be onsite.
There will be a reduction in car parking spaces available.
Equipment, materials and machinery will be stored on the vacant land adjacent to the rail tracks on the southern side of Warrnambool Station.
Thank you for your patience while these works take place.
