Saturday, 10 January
On Saturday, 10 January there will be significant impacts to the Bendigo, Echuca, Swan Hill and Albury lines due to bushfires.
No V/Line train or replacement coach services will be operating to Bendigo, Echuca, Swan Hill or Albury so please avoid travel on these lines.
Scheduled coaches connecting to stations on these lines that are still operating will not connect to a train or replacement service. Select coach services may be cancelled at short notice or may not service select stops due to road closures or emergency services requests.
A very limited number of replacement coaches will be running between Southern Cross and Kyneton (not stopping at Footscray and Watergardens).
TRAIN IMPACTS
Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough
Ballarat Line: Train services will run as scheduled. Note that coaches replace evening trains between Southern Cross and Wendouree as part of planned works.
Maryborough Line: Train services will run as scheduled.
Ararat Line: Train services will run as scheduled.
Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill
Bendigo Line: Train services will continue to be suspended.
A limited number of replacement coaches will run between Southern Cross and Kyneton (not stopping at Footscray and Watergardens). Coaches will not operate between Kyneton and Bendigo.
To city - coaches will then run at 5:00am, 6:06am then every hour to 10.06pm with the last service departing at 11.41pm.
From city – coaches will depart Southern Cross at 6.25am and run every hour until midnight.
Echuca Line: Train services are suspended.
Swan Hill Line: Train services are suspended.
Geelong and Warrnambool
Geelong Line: Train services will run as scheduled. Note coaches replace evening trains between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds as part of planned works.
Warrnambool Line: Train services will run as scheduled.
Traralgon and Bairnsdale
Traralgon Line: Train services will continue to operate between East Pakenham and Traralgon in accordance with planned works in the metropolitan area.
Bairnsdale Line: Train services will continue to operate between East Pakenham and Bairnsdale in accordance to the occupation timetable.
Seymour, Shepparton and Albury
Seymour Line: Train services are scheduled to run but due to fire activity in the region, services may be suspended at short notice. Check before you travel.
Shepparton Line: Train services are scheduled to run but due to fire activity in the region, services may be suspended at short notice. Check before you travel.
Albury Line: Train services will continue to be suspended. Replacement coach services will not be running.
COACH IMPACTS
The following coach services will not run:
- The 15:04 Ballarat Station - Geelong Station
- The 17:41 Geelong Station - Ballarat Station
- The 18:01 Melbourne Southern Cross to Mansfield via Flowerdale
The following coach services will not service Westmere, Streatham, Skipton, Linton, Scarsdale and Smythesdale on Saturday 10 January:
- The 20:11 Ballarat Station to Hamilton Station
- The 16:49 Hamilton Station to Ballarat Station
The following coach services will not service Euroa on Saturday 10 January:
- The 10:31 Albury to Seymour
- The 15:27 Seymour to Albury
Sunday, 11 January
On Sunday, 11 January there will be significant impacts to the Bendigo, Echuca and Swan lines due to bushfires.
Trains on the Albury Line are scheduled to resume by midday, on Sunday 11 January, but due to fire activity in the region, services may be suspended at short notice. Check before you travel.
Services on the Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines will continue to be significantly impacted on Sunday and passengers are advised to defer travel.
Albury Line: The following services will not run. Limited coach replacement will be available.
- The 07:07 Southern Cross - Albury service
- The 06:45 Albury - Southern Cross service
Bendigo Line: Trains will remain suspended. A limited number of coach replacements will run between Kyneton and Southern Cross (not stopping at Watergardens and Footscray)
Echuca: Trains will remain suspended. Coach replacements will not be available.
Swan Hill: a limited number of replacement coaches will run between Swan Hill and Southern Cross, stopping at Kerang and Pyramid only then running express to Southern Cross.
Trains are not able to run on these lines due to fire damage between Bendigo and Castlemaine. Once crews are given clearance to access the site they will work as quickly and safely as possible to repair any damage so that services can resume.
Coach replacement services are not able to run to Bendigo and Echuca tomorrow due to availability, uncertain road conditions and coach driver shortages with many staff living in or near fire affected areas.
COACH IMPACTS
The following coach services will not run on Sunday, 11 January:
- The 18:00 Mansfield to Melbourne Southern Cross
- The 13:00 Melbourne Southern Cross to Mansfield via Flowerdale
