Coaches replace some trains on the Gippsland Line

Due to the forecast temperature on 22 November 2024, we are expecting to run to an Extreme Heat timetable on the Seymour, Shepparton line.

Metro maintenance works are taking place at various times on the Pakenham Line from 18 November until 29 November. Metro Tunnel Project works will also take place on 30 November and 1 December.

During this time, coaches will replace some Gippsland Line trains for all or part of the journey.

Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 November	From Southern Cross Station: From 8pm – coaches replace trains to East Pakenham. From Traralgon: The 7.38pm service will be replaced by coaches from East Pakenham to Southern Cross. The 6.53pm and 8.24pm services will be replaced by coaches to Southern Cross for the entire journey. From Bairnsdale: The 6.06pm Bairnsdale to Southern Cross service will be replaced by coaches from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.
Friday 22 November	From Southern Cross Station: From 8pm – coaches replace trains to East Pakenham. From Traralgon: The 7.38pm and 8.24pm services will be replaced by coaches from East Pakenham to Southern Cross. Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 November	From Southern Cross Station: From 8pm – coaches replace trains to Traralgon. From Traralgon: From 6.30pm – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross. From Bairnsdale: The 6.06pm Bairnsdale to Southern Cross service will be replaced by coaches from Traralgon to Southern Cross.
Friday 29 November	From Southern Cross Station: From 8pm – coaches replace trains to East Pakenham. From Traralgon: The 7.38pm and 8.24pm services will be replaced by coaches from East Pakenham to Southern Cross. The 6.53pm service will be replaced by coaches to Southern Cross for the entire journey. From Bairnsdale: The 6.06pm Bairnsdale to Southern Cross service will be replaced by coaches from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.
Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December	Coaches replace all Gippsland Line trains between Southern Cross and East Pakenham. From 9pm on Sunday 1 December, coaches will replace trains to Traralgon for the entire journey. Click here to view the temporary coach replacement timetable.

Coaches will not stop at Flinders Street (after 7pm), Richmond, Clayton or Berwick stations.

Please allow an additional 60 minutes’ travel time for your journey.

General Information

There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services.
No pets or hot food allowed on replacement coaches.
Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services. Please touch on and touch off your myki to ensure you pay the correct fare.
The Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street;
Flinders Street Station on Flinders Street opposite Degraves Street.
Coaches will not stop at Clayton Station. Customers should take a Metro service to and from Dandenong.
Coaches will not stop at Richmond Station. Customers should take a Metro service to and from Southern Cross Station or Caulfield.
