Geelong Line passengers will have access to up to 68 more weekend services, with 20 other weekend services extended from Wyndham Vale through to Waurn Ponds.
This will increase the frequency from every 40 minutes to 20 minutes between 8am and 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
On weekdays, 15 additional services will be added at Marshall Station and four additional services will be added at Waurn Ponds Station.
A fourth weekend return service will be introduced on the Warrnambool Line, along with the progressive roll out of more modern, reliable and accessible VLocity trains onto the line.
Ballarat Line
Three evening peak services currently terminating at Melton will be extended to Bacchus Marsh, giving passengers more travel options.
Five morning and five afternoon peak Bacchus Marsh services will also have journey time savings of three to five minutes.
Special weekend Bacchus Marsh services introduced to help support demand following the introduction of the regional fare cap, will be made permanent.
Albury and Bendigo lines
Special weekend services introduced to help support demand on the Albury and Bendigo lines following the introduction of the regional fare cap, will be made permanent.
Coach changes
The 5.19pm and 6.04pm coach services between Ararat and Ballarat will be removed due to duplication with train services.
On weekends, the Ararat to Ballarat coach service will be extended to start in Horsham, becoming the Horsham to Ballarat coach.
The weekday 6.23am Bright to Wangaratta coach will depart from Bright, Porepunkah, Myrtleford and Wangaratta City, five minutes earlier than the current timetable.
