Six-carriage trains running on the Warrnambool Line

Six-carriage trains running on the Warrnambool Line

Published: Fri 23 Oct 2026

Warrnambool Line passengers now have more seats on the busiest services with six-carriage VLocity trains running on some Friday and weekend services.

The following Warrnambool Line services have six carriages:

From Southern Cross

Friday:          5.09pm Southern Cross to Warrnambool
Sunday:        8.05am Southern Cross to Warrnambool
                       1.10pm Southern Cross to Warrnambool

From Warrnambool

Saturday:     8.48am Warrnambool to Southern Cross
Sunday:        12.22pm Warrnambool to Southern Cross
                       5.27pm Warrnambool to Southern Cross

The introduction of six-carriage trains is made possible by the recent completion of the Warrnambool stabling facility, which allows more trains to be stabled overnight and supports longer trains.

Passengers should continue to book ahead before they travel to get a seat by booking online, at a staffed V/Line or premium Metro station, by calling 1800 800 007 or by visiting a retail ticket agent.
