Extra services for Avalon Airshow 2025

We're running extra trains on the Geelong Line to get you to and from this year's Avalon Airshow
The Avalon Australian International Airshow is on again this year and open to the public from Friday 28 March to Sunday 30 March 2025.
The show opens to industry professionals and accredited traders from Tuesday 25 March to Friday 28 March.
Extra trains
V/Line will run extra train services on the Geelong Line from Friday to Sunday to help get people to and from the event.
Geelong Line trains will increase to a ten-minute frequency during the following times.
- Friday 28 March from 7pm to 8.30pm
- Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 10.30am and 3.30pm to 8pm
Regular services will operate outside of these times.
Shuttle buses
Dedicated shuttle buses will be running for all six days from Lara Station to the airfield and will be scheduled to connect with Geelong Line trains.
Buses will have priority access when travelling between Lara Station and the Airshow.
Journey planning
Event goers can check train arrival and departure times by using the
V/Line journey planner or
download the Avalon Airshow temporary timetable.
Trains and shuttle bus services are expected to be extremely busy with large crowds expected to catch public transport to and from the event.
Passengers are advised to take care when waiting on platforms and at the shuttle bus terminal and to allow extra time for their journey.
Extra customer service staff will be in place at key locations including Southern Cross, Lara and the Avalon Airshow bus terminal to provide customers with assistance if required.

Ticketing
A valid myki or long-distance ticket (paper or electronic) is required to travel on the train and shuttle bus to and from the Airshow.
Lara – parking, road detours and congestion
Road detours and parking restrictions will be in place around Lara, and parking at Lara Station will be extremely limited.
Parking at Lara Station is not recommended and passengers should consider parking at alternative stations like North Shore and Wyndham Vale stations.
